Complete guide to webhooks, debugging, and real-time event monitoring with HookMetry

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hookmetry used for?

Hookmetry helps developers debug, test, and monitor webhook integrations. Capture webhook events, validate signatures, replay requests, and track metrics all in one platform.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Hookmetry is a SaaS platform. Just create an account and start using webhook endpoints immediately - no downloads or installations required.

Is my webhook data secure?

Yes. All webhook traffic uses HTTPS encryption. Webhook payloads are stored securely and automatically deleted based on your plan's retention period (3 days for Free, 14 days for Pro, 30 days for Team).

What's included in the free plan?

Free plan includes: 1 webhook endpoint, 50 requests/day, 3-day log retention, and manual validation support. Perfect for testing and small projects.

Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?

Yes. Plans are billed monthly and can be changed anytime from Settings Billing. Changes take effect immediately.

What happens if I exceed my quota?

New webhooks will return HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) until your quota resets at midnight UTC. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited webhooks.

Which webhook providers do you support?

We support Stripe, GitHub, Shopify, and any provider using HMAC-SHA256 signatures. You can also use endpoints without validation for testing purposes.

Can I use Hookmetry in production?

Yes. Many teams use Hookmetry for production monitoring and debugging. We recommend using webhook replay for testing changes before deploying to your actual endpoints.

How long are webhooks stored?

Storage retention varies by plan: Free (3 days), Pro (14 days), Team (30 days). After this period, webhook logs are automatically deleted.

Do you support webhook retries?

Hookmetry captures all webhook attempts from providers (including retries). For outgoing webhooks, you control retry logic in your own application.
